Jenny May Caronchi
Jenny May Caronchi
has been dancing for more than 20 years, having successfully competed
throughout the U.S. and Canada. She is a former student of Nancy Dinger
and Kathleen Crawley Donnelly. Jenny is a certified instructor by the
British Association of Teachers of Dancing and is a member of the Federation
of United States Teachers and Adjudicators. She also serves as Chaplain
of the Scottish Heritage Association of Northeast Ohio and as Vice-President
of the touring show "Touch of Tartan"which promotes the music,
dance and culture of Scotland.
In addition to directing the Jenny May School of Highland Dance, Jenny
is director of the Heather Belles, having founded the group in 2000.
Also trained in other forms of dance, she enjoys serving as choreographer
of musicals for local high schools. Shows she has choreographed include
several productions of Brigadoon as well as 42nd Street,
Anything Goes, The Fantastiks, and Once Upon a Mattress.
Jenny enjoys a career as a reporter for the News-Herald, which recently
won the title of "Best Daily Newspaper in Ohio" in its category
in the Cleveland Press Club's Excellence in Journalism Awards. She is
among reporters from the News-Herald who earned the Associated Press'
"Best Series" award for a series addressing issues in education
as well as a first place award from Suburban Newspapers of Ohio for a
feature on education in Ohio.
Jenny is married to Christian Caronchi, who is a Certified Public Accountant
for Neece and Malec CPA firm in Chardon. Christian also serves as an officer
for the Scottish Heritage Association of Northeast Ohio.
